Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì (HSK), which means Chinese Standard Exam, is the only standardized test of Chinese for non-native-speakers.

There are six levels, from 1 to 6.

HSK 4 1200
HSK 5 2500
HSK 6 + 5000

Level 1 and 2 are for beginners, level 3 and 4 for intermediates, level 5 and 6 for advanced.

HSK can be compared with TOFEL for non-native English speakers.

Passing the HSK can be very useful if you are looking for a job in China or wanting to be accepted into local universities. Employers and schools can gauge your level of Chinese. Most universities require a minimum of HSK 4 or 5.

Miracle Mandarin is a certified national HSK Testing Center which means you can take the HSK test here at school!

Be prepared, the next one is on December 6th and you have to register before November 26th.

To register for the next HSK test:

Step 1: go to http://www.chinesetest.cn/index.do

Step 2: Register your account and fill your information

Step 3: choose HSK level, TEST CENTER= (网络孔子学院上海奇迹中文。。。。) and the date.

Step 4: upload a picture, fill in all information and confirm your registration

Step 5: Pay the fee online and print out the test admission sheet
