Pingjiang Street is located in the north-east of Suzhou. It is both classic and modern. It is praised as “the Ancient City of Suzhou in miniature”.
The existing overall layout of Pingjiang Street has a history of more than one thousand years. However, it still remains the waterside town style, with small bridges over the flowing rivers and white walls and dark tiles, which accumulates deep cultural deposits and gathers extremely plentiful historical relics and human landscapes.
And you can also taste both delicious food from all over the world and local traditional snack.
The best time for travelling is from April to May and from September to October.
The one-thousand-year history of Pingjiang Street goes on along the stone slabs which witness the authentic life of the local people. Strolling in the street, you can feel the unique lingering charm of this landscape produced by its long history.
