Visit the observation decks of any of the tall buildings in Lujiazui to get a great view of Shanghai. Most are more than 100 RMB to visit but it needs to be done at least once. Just make sure to go when the weather is clear.
Together, the Shanghai Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center, Jin Mao Tower and the Oriental Pearl Tower are part of the Lujiazui skyline seen from the Bund.
The Oriental Pearl Radio & TV Tower (Chinese: 东方明珠塔; pinyin: Dōngfāng Míngzhūtǎ, official name: 东方明珠广播电视塔). Construction began in 1991, and the tower was completed in 1994. At 468 m high, it was the tallest structure in China from 1994–2007, when it was surpassed by the Shanghai World Financial Center. It is classified as a AAAAA scenic area by the China National Tourism Administration.
The tower is brightly lit in different LED sequences at night.
The Shanghai World Financial Center (SWFC; Chinese: 上海环球金融中心; pinyin: shànghǎi huánqiú jīnròng zhōngxīn) was designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and it is a mixed-use skyscraper, consisting of offices, hotels, conference rooms, observation decks, and ground-floor shopping malls. Park Hyatt Shanghai is the tower’s hotel component, comprising 174 rooms and suites occupying the 79th to the 93rd floors, and constituting the second-highest hotel in the world after the Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong, which occupies floors 102 to 118 of the International Commerce Centre.The SWFC opened to the public on 28 August 2008, with its observation deck opening on 30 August. The observation deck offers views from 474 m (1,555 ft) above ground level.
The Jin Mao Tower (Chinese: 金茂大厦; pinyin: Jīnmào Dàshà; literally: “The Golden Prosperity Building”), also known as the Jinmao Building or Jinmao Tower, is an 88-story landmark skyscraper in Lujiazui, Pudong. It is 420.5-metre (1,380 ft) and is the 18th tallest building in the world. It contains a shopping mall, offices and the Grand Hyatt Shanghai hotel. It used to be the tallest building in China but its height was surpassed on September 14, 2007, by the Shanghai World Financial Center which is located close by and in 2015 by the Shanghai Tower.
