“地” is a structural particule
“地” can form “地” structure with an adjective, an adverb or other words and phrases to modify verbs or adjectives.
For example:
老板生气地走了
Lǎobǎn shēngqì de zǒu le
The boss left angrily
他热情地欢迎我们
Tā rèqíng de huānyíng wǒmen
He welcomed us warmly
